	Ms. Matalin takes fewer days to express her regrets about hanging McLellan out to dry than Mr. Cheney did to say he felt bad about shooting some guy "I don't buy that we did it wrong," she said. "But I do understand that every day over there is like walking up a mountain with bricks in your backpack, and when something starts the beasts not just growling but flinging themselves against their cages, I feel bad about that, and it's not a good day for him." Well, at least she didn't send, er, herself out to suggest that he asked for it while she hid behind a bunch of lobbyists and women. I wonder if Mr. McLellan is her good friend or her friend or merely her acquaintance? The press? Beasts. Beasts in cages. Just the kind of beasts, as a matter of fact, that Mr. Cheney shoots. Insider beasts, with access. Wouldn't want to threaten that by rattling the bars. Would you?

Well, at least she feels "bad" - her comment about Cheney was that he felt "badly," which has always been obvious to anyone paying attention. The man does not feel with any skill or ability at all.

Note also her soulful explanation that she couldn't get what she wanted from Cheney because he was so wrapped up in his concern for the shooting victim.

Yes, that Cheney, so compassionate that he can't help his press secretary. What a character flaw!

See, isn't that precious? She knew exactly what happened at that point, but she couldn't get anything useful out of him.

Because the truth? Not useful.

I also enjoyed her on Press the Meat claiming that if anyone had done any actual reporting, they would have found out that it's standard to wait before telling anyone the VP shot some guy.

And indeed, since the last case happened before electronic communications, that may well be true.
