Yes, Mr. Giuliani, if it hadn't been for our firemen and police, many more people would have died in the WTC terrorist incident than did die. On the other hand, if you hadn't insisted on paying off a campaign contributor with city funds by putting your "command center" in Tower 7 over the objections of your security people (who pointed out that it was a potential terrorist target), there would have been some point of coordination for police, fire and rescue services, and many of those who died might not have. You know, like the police and firemen. Oh, and the fuel tank for your command center wouldn't have blown up and destroyed Tower 7. I'll just bet you don't want to talk about blame. I was really comforted by the way he handled 9/11 at the time, and I cordially loathe the man. Since, I've learned a little more. Surely if you're going to situate the city's emergency response center in a known terrorist target you'd have someone draw up a plan? Nah.
